Liquid Metering Skids Proving
Liquid metering skids proving is a process used to verify and calibrate the accuracy of volumetric and mass measurement systems in custody transfer stations. A metering skid is a complete package that includes flow meters, filters, controllers, and a flow computer.
Proving of these systems is performed using a reference prover, which is a tank with a precisely known volume. In this process, the liquid flows through the metering skid and then passes through the prover, and the volume measured by the skid is compared with the precisely measured volume of the prover. By repeating this process multiple times, a calibration factor (Meter Factor) for the metering skid is determined.
These services are critical for ensuring measurement accuracy in commercial transactions of valuable liquids such as crude oil and petroleum products at loading and unloading terminals.
